Most people in pain who have unhealed wounds from various types of trauma do not walk around looking like this fellow, but if you could see their heart, their soul - it would look much more heart breaking and gut wrenching. Life has left many of us feeling like abandoned casualties on the battle field, hoping desperately for someone to bring us relief from our agony and anguish.
Sadly, the world has offered many false hopes and cures, distractions and dead end roads to try to address the woundedness of society. None of these "treatments" address the very core of the issue. They offer only what effectually could be compared to placing a band-aid on a gushing arterial bleed. No army medic would think of putting a band-aid on such a wound, and yet that is all the world can truly offer, for they do not know or acknowledge the Healer , Jesus Christ, who came from heaven to bind up the wounds of the broken hearted, and release from captivity those that are bound. How deeply the heart of God, our perfect heavenly Father, grieves over the continuing distress of the wounded.
Traumatic life experiences can begin even while an individual is in their mother's womb. Science now affirms that everything the mother experiences is shared by the child she carries, fed into his or her cells through the umbilical cord. Trauma is stored in the body at the cellular level. There is birth trauma from a difficult delivery. As children we experience the harsh realities of growing up in a sinful world to be raised by parents who more often than not have their own unhealed wounds. By the age of 6, children's foundations have been laid, and sadly many countless helpless souls have ingrained within them the pain that will alter their entire lives and destinies.
At the very heart of Healing For The Nations is the overwhelming burden, desire and mission to reach out to those walking wounded souls and lead them through an encounter with the Healer, Jesus Christ, to a place of wholeness, stability and restoration to the destiny of their lives.
